  • Exam Fee: FREE (No fee charged by State Govt).

🎓 Who Can Apply?

Eligible Candidates:

  • Currently studying in Class VIII.
  • Studying in Govt, Govt Aided, Local Body, or Govt Sponsored Schools (including Madrasah).
  • Must not have residential facility (Hostel).
  • Secured 55% marks in Class VII Final Exam (5% relaxation for SC/ST/Disabled).
  • Parental Income is below Rs. 3,50,000/- per annum.

NOT Eligible:

  • Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVS) or Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV).
  • Students of State Govt. run residential schools.
  • Students of Private Schools.

📝 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The examination consists of two parts conducted on the same day. All questions are Objective Type (MCQ) with No Negative Marking.

Syllabus Note: There is no prescribed syllabus. Questions will conform to the standard of Class VII and Class VIII level.

📂 Documents for Upload

Prepare scanned copies of the following before applying (PDF max 200KB, Photo max 50KB):

  • Verification Certificate: Signed by the Head of your Institution with official seal.
  • Income Certificate: For the period 01.04.2024 to 31.03.2025.
    (Salaried: Employer Cert | Others: Jt. BDO/Executive Officer/Group A Officer).
  • Bank Passbook: First page showing Account No. and IFSC. Account must be in SBI/Public Sector Bank with Core Banking.
  • Aadhaar Card: Must be seeded with your Bank Account.
  • Caste/Disability Certificate: Only if applicable.

📍 Important District Rules & Quota

Educational District Selection:
  • If your school is in Barrackpore or Bidhannagar (Salt Lake) Sub-division ➔ Select BARRACKPORE (Do not select North 24 Parganas or Kolkata).
  • If your school is in Siliguri Sub-division ➔ Select SILIGURI (Do not select Darjeeling).

Selection Process:

  • Total State Quota: 7250 Scholarships.
  • Tie-Breaker: If marks are equal, the younger candidate (Junior Date of Birth) gets preference.
